North American prospect weekly report (9/27 – 10/3)

This is a new column that will follow the weekly progress of Flyers prospects playing  in the various leagues throughout North America. This week’s edition focuses on our prospects playing junior hockey in Canada since the NCAA and AHL have yet to start their seasons.

Thursday, September 30
Defenseman Tyler Hostetter finished with an assist and was a +1 on the night.
Forward Dave Labrecque was held pointless in a 2-3 loss.

Friday, October 1
Defenseman Ricard Blidstrand was pointless and a  – 1 in a 3-7 loss.
Hostetter was pointless and a -2 on the evening in 3-7 loss.
Forward Michael Chaput finished with an assist and a +1  in a 8-0 win.
Goalie Adam Morrison let in 5 goals on 28 shots during his only start of the season. He was pulled with about 12 minutes in the 3rd.
Forward Brendan Ranford scored a goal and was named the 3rd star of the match.

Saturday, October 2d

Ricard Blidstrand was pointless and finished a -4 in a 2-6 loss.
Hostetter scored a goal and recorded an assist. He finished with a +2 and was named the 3rd star.
Labrecque scored a goal to help his team to a 5-0 win.
Chaput was held pointless in a 1-4 loss.
Ranford was also held pointless in a 1-6 loss.

Sunday, October 3rd
Michael Chaput recorded a goal and an assist in a 5-4 win.
Labrecque scored a goal, an assist, and was a +2 on the evening. Was named the 3rd star of the game.

Blidstrand: 4 GP, 0 G, 0 A, 0 PTS -3
Chaput: 7 GP, 1 G, 4 A, 5 PTS -1
Hostetter: 5 GP, 2 G, 2 A 4 PTS, +4

Ranford: 4 GP, 3 G, 1 A, 4 PTS +2
Morrison: 1 GP, 6.19 GAA, .821 SV%
