North American Prospect Weekly Report (11/01 – 11/07)

The North American Prospect Report follows the weekly progress of Flyers prospects playing in the various leagues throughout North America.

Forwards:

Brendan Ranford continued his torrid pace this week by scoring 4 goals, which included a hat trick, and an assist. The Phantoms scoring woes continue as David Laliberte was their only forward prospect to finish with more than 1 point. Ben Holmstrom was their other only forward prospect to score a goal. Tye McGinn continues his strong play with the Olympiques, finishing with 3 assists and a +3 in 2 games played. Michael Chaput contributed with 2 assists and +3 in three games with the Lewiston Maineiacs. Shane Harper scored his first goal of the season in the ECHL.

Defenseman:

Erik Gustafsson continued to be the Phantoms most productive player on offense with his 3 points in 2 games. Joonas Lehtivuori also continued his strong offensive play with 2 assists, but continues to get abused defensively. Tyler Hostetter had a better week on defense, finishing a plus on the week, plus continued to contribute with his offensive game. Marc-Andre Bourdon, Oliver Lauridsen, and Ricard Blidstrand, each recorded an assist for their respective teams.

Goalies:

The bloodbath continued for both Phantoms goalies. Johan Backlund surrendered 5 goals on 19 shots in the game he started while Brian Stewart gave up 7 goals on 36 shots. Adam Morrison recorded wins in two of the three games he started. He stopped 26 of 29 in game one, 19 of 23 in game 2, and 21 of 24 in game 3. Nic Riopel’s two starts were a bit of a mixed bag. His play was stellar in the first game when he allowed only 1 goal on 32 shots, but then proceeded to give up 5 goals on 48 shots in the second game.
