North America Prospect Weekly Report (12/26-01/02)

The North American Prospect Report follows the weekly progress of Flyers prospects playing in the various leagues throughout North America.

Forwards:

Brendan Ranford set a career high in goals this week when he scored his 30th on his 39th game. His previous high was 29 goals in 72 games. He finished the week with 8 points (2 g, 6 a) in 5 games. Tye McGinn remained red hot with a 5 point performance (2 g, 3 a) in two games played. Luke Pither lead the week for the Phantoms on offense with 5 points (1 g, 4 a) in 6 games. Eric Wellwood also continued to produce with a goal and 2 assists. Jonathon Kalinski returned from injury this week and scored his 4th goal of the season. Rob Bordson, Ben Holmstrom, and Andrew Rowe also contributed to the scoresheet for the Phantoms.

Defenseman:

It was pretty quiet on the offensive side of the puck for the defenseman this week. Ricard Blidstrand leads the way with a 2 assist performance in one of the games he played. Oliver Lauridsen scored his first goal of the season in the NCAA. Erik Gustafsson, Brandon Manning, and Danny Syvret each registered a point for their respective teams.

Goalies:

Adam Morrison only got to start one of the Blades games this week, but it was a good one. He stopped 27 of 28 shots and recorded the win. Nic Riopel had a rollercoaster of a week. He let in 7 during his first start, recorded a shutout in the following start, and then let in 6 in his final start before being pulled in the second period. Brian Stewart finally seemed to settle in the AHL this week. He stopped all 16 he faced when he came on in relief of Riopel. He was started the next three games for the Phantoms and began their first three game win streak of the season. He let in only 5 of the 98 shots he saw.
