North American Prospect Weekly Report (1/24 – 1/30)

The North American Prospect Report follows the weekly progress of Flyers prospects playing in the various leagues throughout North America.

Forwards:

Brendan Ranford busted out of his cold streak with a 7 point (2 g, 5 a) performance over three games. He had a pair of 3 point games and had one point in the third. Dave Labrecque outdid Ranford with 8 points in three games. He had a huge 5 point performance (1g, 4 a) on Wednesday. He followed it up with a goal and assist in his next game and finally an assist in the third game. Tye McGinn had another strong week, finishing with 2 goals and 2 assists in 3 games played. Michael Chaput chipped in with a goal and an assist in the one game he dressed in. Rob Bordson has had his best weekly performance since becoming a Phantom. He scored a pair of goals in a game, and assisted in another. He was also a + in each game. Mike Testwuide also had a 3 point performance with the Phantoms. All three of his points came during the final game of the week. Andrew Rowe and Jonathon Kalinski both had 2 points on the week. Rowe scored a goal in both games he played, while Kalinski had an assist in two of his three games. Luke Pither also contributed by scoring a goal. Lastly, Shane Harper continues to put up points in the ECHL. He scored a goal in each of his two games.

Defenseman:

Danny Syvret began to heat up offensively with a pair of assists in two games. Kevin Marshall had his best offensive performance of the season on Wednesday with a 3 assist night. Brandon Manning assisted on two goals in two of his games while Ricard Blidstrand also chipped in with an assist.

Goalies:

Johan Backlund got two start two games for the Phantoms and won both of them. He let in 3 goals on 24 shots during his first start and let in 4 on 38 shots in his next start. Nic Riopel looks to be back to backup duty now that former Flyers draft pick Dov Grumet-Morris is back with the Road Warriors. Riopel stopped 22 of 25 in his lone start and got the win in the shootout. Brian Stewart made the save on 38 of the 39 shots he saw in the one game he started. Adam Morrison did not dress again this week due to an illness.
