Parks heads to the United States Hockey League to play junior hockey before he can begin his NCAA career with the University of North Dakota. He had a modest debut season, finishing with 11 goals and 11 assists in 51 games. His 22 points were good for 10th in team scoring. He was the 2nd youngest player to finish in the top 10 in scoring. NHL’s Central Scouting Bureau had him ranked as the 138th skater in North America for the 2010 Entry Draft.

Parks made a big leap in development during his second and final season with the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders. He finished second in goals with 25, which was more than double his previous year’s total. He also finished 5th in team scoring with 41 points in 56 games. Parks also contributed with 3 goals and 1 assist in 8 playoff games. He will head to the University of North Dakota for the 2011-2012 season.
