Future Flyers Weekly Report

The Future Flyers Weekly Report follows the weekly progress of Flyers prospects playing in the various leagues throughout North America.

The OHL and WHL kicked off their seasons this week so we can begin tracking the progress of Flyers progress. The AHL, ECHL, and NCAA seasons have yet to begin so the report is a little light this week. I’ve renamed the column to something shorter and more catchy.

Ricard Blidstrand, a stay-at-home defender, was held pointless in both of his matches this weekend. Nick Cousins was a -1 in a 4-3 loss in his season opener, but he assisted on the game winning goal in a 403 win the next night. Derek Mathers scored a goal, assisted on another, was a +2 on the evening, and got into a fight to complete the Gordie Howe hattrick during the Petes’ seasoner opener. He was pointless in game two. Marcel Noebels scored a goal for Seattle during their opener. Colin Suellentrop, another stay-at-home defender, was also held poiuntless during his two games this weekend.
