Future Flyers Weekly Report

The Future Flyers Weekly Report follows the weekly progress of Flyers prospects playing in the various leagues throughout North America.

Forwards:
Nick Cousins had another impressive performance. He started off the week with a game winning goal in his first game. He then finished with a goal and an assist in his next game. Finally, he capped off the wek with 2 goals and an assist in his final game. He earned two first star honors this week. Cousins is currently sitting at 12 in scoring in the OHL and 2nd in team scoring for the Greyhounds. Marcel Noebels also had a fine week. He scored 2 goals and assisted on another in a game on Friday. He also collected another assist this week. He is currently leading the Thunderbirds in both goals and points. Brendan Ranford had a relatively quiet week for him. He tallied a goal and an assist over his three games.

Harry Zolnierczyk led the Phantoms prospects in scoring with 2 goals and assist over the weekend. Zac Rinaldo has played well since being demoted. He collected a goal and an assist. He also apparently scored a goal that was waived off. Jason Akeson also had a two point week, picking up a couple of assists. Tyler Brown and Eric Wellwood also scored goals for the Phantoms. Ben Holmstrom and Tom Sestito also contributed with assists.

It was a quiet week for the offensive side of the defense. Tyler Hostetter collected his second point in 4 games in the ECHL. Ricard Blidstrand, Marc-Andre Bourdon, and Erik Gustaffson each were credited with an assist.

Goalies:
Niko Hovinen continues his domination in the SM-Liiga. He won all three starts by allowing 4 goals over his three starts. He also recorded his 3rd shutout when he stopped all 36 shots on Friday. Brad Phillips made the save on 32 of the 34 shots he faced, but was tagged with loss as his team was shutout.
