Future Flyers Weekly Report

The Future Flyers Weekly Report follows the weekly progress of Flyers prospects.

Forwards:
In juniors, Brendan Ranford kicked off the week with a goal on Wednesday. He also scored a goal and assisted on another during Saturday’s game. Derek Mathers scored a goal in each game this weekend. Marcel Noebels also tallied a goal and an assist this week. Meanwhile Nick Cousins went pointless as the Greyhounds only managed to score two goals in two games. Brayden Schenn began his conditioning stint with the Phantoms and did not disappoint. He picked up an assist in his first game back from injury. He followed that up with a 2 point (1g, 1a) performance on Friday before capping off his week with a goal in Saturday’s game. Tom Sestito one upped Schenn with a 4 point week. He started the week with a 2 goal night on Thanksgiving and followed it up with a goal and an assist on Friday. Shane Harper was another Phantom to have a productive week with 3 points in 3 games including a two goal performance on Friday. Jonathon Kalinski also had a two goal performance when he tallied two on Saturday. Finally, Michael Parks scored his second goal of the season for the University of North Dakota

Defensemen:
Ricard Blidstrand returned to the Pats lineup after missing time with a shoulder injury. Blidstrand collected an assist in his second game back. He also scored his first goal of the season on Saturday. Nick Luukko collected his third assist of his NCAA career. Blake Kessel had the best week of his Phantoms career so far when he picked up three assists this weekend.

Goalies:
Niko Hovinen lost his only start this week when he let in 3 goals on 24 shots before getting injured in practice. Brad Phillips did not dress this week which appears to be injury related.
