History tells me that I can often be blind to the weaknesses of players I happen to like. That being said, I’m not understanding why Sean Couturier isn’t a first-line winger. I look at tonight’s lines and I’m completely confused on why he’s a second-line center and Briere is a first-line wing. I think a first line of McGinn, Giroux, and Couturier and a second line of Read, Briere and BSchenn is far more compelling. Plus, BSchenn would benefit from an outlet pass behind the net if he’s paired with Danny. Honestly, I see a lot more holes in tonight’s lines than suggested lines I made above. Noobs – even though I love the guy – would be better suited to play with Jakub and Max on the 3rd line. And you’re bruisers, Zach, Russ, and Tommy-Boy can round out the 4th line.
