There have been rumblings, which finally came true.

The steadiest defenseman to patrol the Philadelphia Flyers blueline since Eric Desjardins has decided to return for one more season.

Kimmo Timonen will be back in Orange and Black in 2013-14, thanks to a one-year deal worth $6,000,000.

Eklund was first with the news, citing an undisclosed teammate on Wednesday night who hinted that the 37-year-old Finn was going to re-up.

Timonen has contributed 28 goals and 211 points over 327 regular-season games since coming over in a July, 2007 deal, and has soldiered through a number of injuries as he has aged, including blood clots in his leg during the 2008 playoff run to back surgery performed this offseason.
