The Flyers announced the news earlier today that Flyers defenseman Bruno Gervais is now out indefinitely.

Gervais was scratched from the lineup on Monday against the Montreal Canadiens after only skating for a few minutes in warm-ups. He will undergo surgery this Thursday to repair a torn stomach muscle.
With a defense that is already thin, this injury only adds problems for Flyers, thus they have recalled defensemen Matt Konan and Brandon Manning from the American Hockey League affiliate the Adirondack Phantoms.
Gervais has played 37 games for the Flyers this year and has tallied a goal with five assists but is a minus -17 and ranks seventh among the club’s defensemen in ice time at an average 17:07 per game.
