The official guide to all four Ice Hockey Tournament Events

Something, something hockey!

So, let’s start with the bad news. We’re scaling the tournament back from four teams down to two, three games to one. Unfortunately, I think we’ve cannibalized our audience by hosting too many fundraisers and could not get enough players to fill out four teams.

The two captains are Dave Isaac and Josh Janet.

We have two extra goalies who will either need to be a backup or a bow out of the tournament.

I apologize for these inconveniences but we have to deal with the hand we have been dealt.

Now, onto the good news!

We have four events planned in relation to the tournament.

The Draft

  • When: Saturday, June 22 at 6:00 p.m.
  • Where: The Irish Mile, one of our team sponsors
  • What: Free food, amazing beer, giveaways, find out what team you are on, and get your jersey. See more details here.

The Blood Drive

The Tournament

  • When: Saturday, June 29 from 12:30 p.m – 2:15 p.m.
  • Where: Flyers Skate Zone at Pennsauken
  • What: Two teams, one game, one trophy, $250 in prize money*. See more information on the tournament rules here.

The Post-Game Party

  • When: Saturday, June 29 after the tournament
  • Where: 45th Street Pub in Pennsauken, one of our team sponsors
  • What: Grab a beer or two and cool down after a hot tournament

Other

  • Please register for our blood drive and help our sponsors out by showing up to our draft and post-game party.
  • All money raised will go to the Ed Snider Youth Hockey Foundation.
  • You can view the list of registrants here.
  • We still need registrants for our game. Please sign up using the form below.
  • *Since we have half as many teams, we have half as much money. So, we had to half the prize money. I’m incredibly sorry.

Game Rules

  • Three fifteen minute periods
  • Five-minute warmup.
  • Stopped clock
  • Five-minute overtime
  • Five person shootout for a tie breaker
  • Loose reffing but penalties will be called and people will be tossed if it comes to that
  • Backup goalies will play 1/3 of the game
