The rumor mill is alive and well on this Tuesday afternoon!
After the news that the Philadelphia Flyers will buyout goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov (That story can be found here), a whole new world of possibilities have been opened up. After the buyout the Flyers will be under the salary cap by roughly four million dollars!
A new rumor that has hit the Twitterverse is that of Chicago Blackhawks Winger Viktor Stalberg. The 27-year-old will be an unrestricted free agent this coming offseason. According to Sam Carchidi, the Flyers are looking at Stalberg as a potential target.
Free-agent winger Viktor Stalberg (6-3, 209) of Chi. is on #Flyers' radar. He had 22 goals 2 years ago and 9 in shortened season this year.

Drafted by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the sixth round of the 2006 draft (161st overall), Stalberg played one season in Toronto before moving on to the Blackhawks. Over his four season career he has played 243 contests and has 52 goals and 52 assists.
In this just completed season, Stalberg was part of the Stanley Cup-winning Chicago Blackhawks. He played in 47 of 48 regular-season games and scored nine goals and 14 assists for 23 points.
This could be a fairly economical pickup for the Flyers and can certainly add some depth and proven scoring to the lineup. Over the last four seasons, Stalberg was a cap hit of only $850,000, allowing the Flyers to add him and look for more during the offseason.
Stalberg is a speedy skater despite the fact that he is 6-foot-3 and 209 pounds. If the Flyers are looking to add speed and up their scoring, which was needed this past season, Stalberg would be a good acquisition.
