Streit officially in, so who’s out?

Beating the free-agency deadline by one week, the Philadelphia Flyers officially announced the signing of defenseman Mark Streit to a multi-year contract on Friday evening.

No terms of the new pact were disclosed, but previous reports stated it is for $21 million over four years.

According to Darren Dreger from TSN of Canada, the breakdown is $5 million next season, $6 million for 2014-15 and 2015-16, then $4 million in 2016-17.

TSN’s Ryan Rishaug and others also reported earlier on Friday that defenseman Braydon Coburn is now “in play”  and has drawn interest from both the Carolina Hurricanes and Edmonton Oilers.

Coburn is coming off a subpar 2013 season, but with a need to clear cap space, get younger on the back line and possibly move up in Sunday’s draft, moving the veteran blueliner remains a distinct possibility.
