With the 72nd pick overall in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft the Flyers selected Tyrell Goulborne, a left winger from Kelowna of the WHL.

Central Scouting had Goulborne as their 151st ranked North American skater.

Last season with Kelowna, the 5’11” 195 lb Goulbourne tallied 27 points in 64 games while managing 135 penalty minutes. HockeyFights.com has him at 19 fights just last season.

At first glance, due to his low overall ranking, limited point total, penalty minutes, and fight totals, he appears to be a low-upside fighter.

Not exactly my kind of pick. If he can become the next Zac Rinaldo instead of the next Garrett Klotz, that would be good.

I think he’s a solid defense forward as well and he could find a spot in the NHL. I was hoping the Canucks would grab him in the fourth or fifth round. I would have loved that. Picking him in the third round… I can’t say if that was a wise move.
