Friday funnies brought to you straight from hockey’s own players, media personnel, and broadcast botches. We’ll be mucking it up every week right here, examining puck ups, puns, tweets, and more!
This week on Hockey Hilarity we’ll examine the National Hockey League free agent market! Well not really, since most of it’s dried up, but what we will do is empathize with the situation of a current 30-year-old out of work winger, who is 6’4″, 243 lbs, and has scored 20 or more goals in four over parts of nine seasons in the NHL. This is the plight of Dustin Penner. The guy has two Stanley Cup rings (TWO OF THEM!), most recently one with the Los Angeles Kings in 2012 and the other with the Anaheim Ducks in 2007, 137 goals, 137 assists, for 275 points in 522 games played, and just can’t seem to find a hockey related job!
It’s so bad, in fact, that he posted this on Twitter last week:
Gotta love hockey players.
We wish Dustin Penner luck in his quest to find a better gig soon.
Until next time, Nick here, signing off. Later gator!
