Friday funnies brought to you straight from hockey’s own players, media personnel, and broadcast botches. We’ll be mucking it up every week right here, examining puck ups, puns, tweets, and more!
It’s been exactly one year and a few hours since the Philadelphia Flyers and Nashville Predators defenseman Shea Weber agreed on a crazy ridiculous offer sheet, which sent the whole hockey world into a tizzy. It was a ton of fun for five days until the Preds matched the offer and Weber became Predators property for life (more than likely anyway, who would want that deal with all that silly cap recapture stuff!???!).
Anyway, I thought it was a perfect time to remember one of the best things to ever happen to internet and hockey: WEBERING!
If you don’t know or remember Webering, it was a viral internet’y thing for maybe a week after this incident in the 2012 playoffs involving Shea Weber (duh!) and Detroit Red Wings forward Henrik Zetterberg:
The best part about this becoming an internet phenomenon was this picture that the Predators ice girls posted somewhere on the web [of course I don't remember where this was posted and can't find a link to it (mostly 'cause I'm super lazy), but you can bet I saved that thing cause it's unreal amounts of funny]:
Anyway, take a minute out of your day to google “Webering” (or just click here) and let’s all remember, and laugh out loud (LOL!), at this whole thing.
See ya next week!
