Gameday FAQ: Flyers vs Devils

Here is your Philadelphia Flyers Gameday FAQ for Tuesday, September 24, 2013.

When and where are the Flyers playing?

The Flyers host the New Jersey Devils at the Wells Fargo Center for a 7:00pm matchup.

How can I watch this game?

For those of you in Philadelphia, you can watch this on The Comcast Network (TCN). If you have Fios, don’t panic! You have TCN, but it’s in standard definition on channel 99. Fuzzy hockey is better than no hockey.

This game will also be broadcast nationally on the NHL Network, so the out of towners are not out of luck.

If you’re on the road, you can listen to the game on 97.5 The Fanatic.

Who do I have to look forward to seeing in orange and black?

Oh captain, my captain, Claude Giroux is back! Let’s see how G and his dangle look in his first real fake game action post Golden Tee maiming.

Outside of His Gingerness, we’ve got more Michael Raffl and Scott Laughton to look at, the defenseman battle between Meszaros, Grossmannnnnn, Gustafsson, etc., and the skirmish for more starts between Ray Emery and Steve Mason. Razor Ray gets the nod tonight.

Who do I have to look forward to viciously booing?

It’s Puddy from Seinfeld and half of the supporting cast in the Sopranos’ favorite team, the New Jersey Devils! So boo them all until you can’t boo no mores. Marty Brodeur will most likely be in there in some form. Prepare your finest fat and old jokes. That said, he will not be in net. You will be seeing one of the newest Devils, Cory Schneider. I’m sure he’ll find a way to be a Flyer killer for years to come. Sigh.

Patrick Elias is certainly booable. Jaromir Jagr will not be with the team tonight. What Devils will be? Guys like Ryane Clowe, Damien Brunner, Travis Zajac, Bryce Salvador, Marek Zidlicky, and Anton Volchenkov.

Anything else I should know?

Vincent Lecavalier and Wayne Simmonds are recovering from the flu, so please bring chicken soup to the game and fling it onto the ice. (EDITOR’S NOTE: Do not actually do this)
