Gameday FAQ: Flyers at Devils

Here is your Philadelphia Flyers Gameday FAQ for Thursday, September 26, 2013.

When and where are the Flyers playing?

The Flyers travel to scenic Newark to take on Jaromir Jagr Ilya Kovalchuck Danius Zubrus and the New Jersey Devils at the Prudential Center for a 7:00pm matchup.

How can I watch this game?

You can’t! Well, not on tv anyway. The Devils are streaming it and sharing their stream with the Flyers (don’t cross the streams!). So mosey over to to check it out.

The game will also be broadcast on 97.5 The Fanatic, so use your imagination and enjoy the dulcet tones of Tim Saunders and Chris Therien.

Who do I have to look forward to seeing in orange and black?

Steve Mason is in net tonight.

That is not a question, that is an internet thing, knock it off. It’s not that bad, Steve’s got a new lease on goalie life! Give the guy a chance.

That’s an emoticon. Look, besides Mason you’ve got a whole bunch of Flyers goodness to take in.

Like star forward Jakub Voracek?

Well, no, he got hurt in the last preseason game…

But Wayne Simmonds is back from the flu! Everyone loves the Wayne Train. You might also get your last glimpse of Hal Gill in orange and black, Scott Laughton vs Michael Raffl…and, well, not much more actually. Claude Giroux, Vincent Lecavalier, Scott Hartnell, and Kimmo Timonen are among tonight’s scratches.

Look, Tye McGinn, Nick Cousins and Ben Holmstrom came all the way down from Adirondack to play in this one. So let’s put on a nice smile and pretend like this is what we want to watch.

Who do I have to look forward to booing?

It’s the Devils, so the bigger question is “who don’t I boo?” Jaromir Jagr isn’t in the lineup, so go ahead and boo everyone. We’re going to miss our old friend Marty Brodeur again tonight (condolences to Marty, losing a parent is awful), so it looks like the Flyers are going to have to deal with Cory Schneider again. Schneider has let up a whopping one goal in the preseason thus far, so I’m sure this one will be a blast.

We can also look forward to guys like Ryane Clowe, Travis Zajac, Damien Brunner, former Flyer from 15 years ago Dainius Zubrus, Andrei Loktionov, Danny Briere kerfuffle victim Adam Henrique, Bryce Salvador, and Marek Zidlicky. Oh joy.

Anything else I should know?

Take a deep breath, the preseason is almost over with.
