Here is your Philadelphia Flyers Gameday FAQ for Friday, September 27, 2013.
When and where are the Flyers playing?
The Flyers travel to Washington D.C. to take on the Capitals at the Verizon Center at 7pm. This is the final game of the preseason.
How can I watch this game?
This game will be shown on the NHL Network. Everyone should be able to see it, regional blackouts be damned!
The game will also be broadcast on 97.5 The Fanatic for those of you on the go.
Who do I have to look forward to seeing in orange and black?
Certainly not Oliver Lauridsen and Michael Raffl, who were both sent down to the Phantoms today. Be sure to watch Scott Laughton, since he’s still hanging around and not mucking it up with the other teenagers back in Canada. Personally, I’m not the biggest fan of moving him from center to wing, but he might be your best remaining third-line option. They could also shift things around between Laughton, Talbot, and Hall, but we’ll see. Apparently with the Flyers, you’re ready when you’re ready.
That is unless Chris Salsa Verde takes this spot. Chris VandeVelde has 28 games of NHL experience and 3 points. He’s also still hanging around the Flyers roster. He is most notable for noticing that he is, in fact, actually on the Flyers roster.
Razor Ray Emery is starting between the pipes. Vinny Lecavalier will probably be in there. Pay close attention to defense as things still are not settled between Erik Gustafsson, Andrej Meszaros, Bruno Gervais, and Hal Gill.
Who do I have to look forward to booing?
Michael Neuvirth is starting in net for the Caps. NHL superstar and emoticon enthusiast Alexander Ovechkin should be playing. We’ll also be getting a look at Mikhail Grabovski, Nicklas Backstrom, Eric Fehr, and Karl Alzner, among others.
Anything else I should know?
This is the last preseason game, rejoice!
