Sunday night in Toronto, an incident occurred during a game, despite it being the preseason and not meaning a gosh darn thing, between the Buffalo Sabres and the Toronto Maple Leafs. Toronto forward Phil Kessel was assessed a match penalty for intent to injure for slashing Buffalo forward John Scott… With a deadly instrument.
As the image below shows, Kessel and Scott are lined up across from one another for a neutral zone face-off, when they engage in an altercation. While backpedalling, Kessel attempts to defend himself against Scott by taking a two-handed swing at his opponent’s legs with a lightsaber:
