Friday funnies brought to you straight from hockey’s own players, media personnel, and broadcast botches. We’ll be mucking it up every week right here, examining puck ups, puns, tweets, and more!
I know there are a lot of people out there who are really angry that Sergei Bobrovsky isn’t a Philadelphia Flyer anymore and instead plays for the Columbus Blue Jackets. Most of them are upset because he went on to win the Vezina Trophy in the lockout shortened season that just passed, but some were legitimately annoyed because the Flyers dealt a kid with a lot of promise (even if what they got in return was great value and used it to take a goaltender in Anthony Stolarz who could be just as good one day) just to appease Ilya Bryzgalov and give him more starts.
One of my favorite things about Sergei Bobrovsky, and it better be one of your favorite things about him too, is Jay Onrait’s, formerly of TSN and now of Fox Sportsnet in Los Angeles, very special way of calling his name during game highlights:
Yes! We all love this. It’s wonderful. What’s even more wonderful is that for Halloween this year, well… This ACTUALLY happened:

This is why Halloween rules, why Bob rules, and why you rule Jay Onrait. Congratulations to you, good sirs.
By the by, that is one heck of a mustache Bob is sporting, isn’t it folks? Which reminds me: happy Movember!
Speaking of Movember, and this magical month, you can donate to the Flyers Faithful Movember team here: http://us.movember.com/mospace/index/search/?q=flyers%20faithful
