Friday funnies brought to you straight from hockey’s own players, media personnel, and broadcast botches. We’ll be mucking it up every week right here, examining puck ups, puns, tweets, and more!
This week, one of the biggest stories in the NHL was the New York Rangers‘ signing of impending unrestricted free agent goaltender Henrik Lundqvist. Lundqvist has played every single game of his career in the NHL with the Rangers and made it clear that he wanted to stay in New York. The two sides came to terms on a 7-year deal worth a reported $59.5 million dollars. That’s a lot of money and a lot of years for a goaltender, even if it is a guy with the pedigree of King Henrik.
This could be one of those deals that both parties regrets down the road. One guy who knows that path all too well is one Roberto Luongo who is, unbelievably so, still of the Vancouver Canucks. Luongo tweeted this after the news broke of the signing:
You sure about this @HLundqvist30 ???

Excellent. As are all of Luongo’s tweets actually so you might as well follow the guy. If it’s really him that is…
I’ll see you all next week!
