Philadelphia – Without the Flyers

President’s Day weekend found me in your city: Philadelphia. My school takes a four day weekend then and I so desperately wanted to see my best friend and come back to where I didn’t have to defend my Philadelphia Flyers love, so I went. I’ve been twice before this trip (as far as I can remember) and both times prior involved hockey. The first was my inaugural NHL game where the Flyers won against the Toronto Maple Leafs. It was thrilling and I remember being unable to eat or even sit for most of the game because I was so …

This time next week…

I will be in Philadelphia! Yes! I have a long weekend break from teaching and I’m heading east and north to see my best friend and be in the city of my team. I unfortunately will not be seeing a game due to the Flyers being away and general lack of money, but I don’t care. Now my jumping up and down or maintaining the fetal position while watching hockey is known to all who were there. At least I didn’t curse like a sailor like I usually do. Although I was still taunted because the Blackhawks are 4-0. And I have to repeat, I don’t hate the Blackhawks, I just like the Flyers better. It’s like …

Salt and Pepper Shakers. Yes, they are awesome.

Oh My Hockey!

I cannot believe I’m posting. I don’t think the good people here at Flyers Faithful can believe I’m posting. I was beginning to believe that my posting regularity on here would be like the season — non-existent. I hope everyone had a lovely holiday and spent time with family. Finding out the lockout was over was an early b-day present for me and hilarious because my father had taken it upon himself to get me several Flyers-themed presents for Christmas this year. I was glad, of course, but a little sad because well, stupid ::insert any foul word here:: lockout. Then …
