The Springfield Falcons have had the Adirondack Phantoms by the scruff for most of the season and typically early on in most of their games. This was the sixth meeting between the Falcons (45-22-5-4) and Adirondack (30-37-3-4) and four out the six times Springfield has scored first within the first six minutes of the game. It only took Garrett Roe 59 minutes and 59.7 seconds to tie the game, and it only took 15 rounds of a shootout for Mark Alt to score the game-winning goal, leading the Phantoms to victory over the Binghamton Senators by a score of 2-1 Sunday afternoon at the Glens Falls Civic Center. Pat Cannone broke the stalemate early in the third period for Binghamton (42-24-1-6) with a helper from Hugh Jessiman. Scott Laughton and Mark Alt each earned their first American Hockey League points in their debuts with the Adirondack Phantoms, but it wasn’t enough as the Springfield Falcons skated away with a 3-2 victory Friday night at the Glens Falls Civic Center. Phantoms comeback falls short in shootout loss to Rochester

Rochester’s Colin Jacobs recorded the deciding score, then Danny Syvret was not able to keep the Adirondack Phantoms alive in the shootout as they fell to the Americans by a 5-4 count on Saturday night at the Glens Falls Civic Center. Rochester (38-27-4) saw goals from Patrick Rissmiller, Frederick Roy, Drew Schiestel and Mark Mancari in regulation. David Leggio was a monster in net for the Americans, posting 39 saves on 43 shots and stopping four of five shootout chances. Mancari also had a goal in the shootout. Alex Grant beat Brian Boucher from the slot in overtime to give the The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins the win over the Adirondack Phantoms Friday night at the Glens Falls Civic Center. Cal Heeter posted 40 saves and Adirondack tied its season record for fewest shots on goal, but the Phantoms pulled themselves together to post a 4-2 victory over the Portland Pirates on Sunday afternoon at the Glens Falls Civic Center. Michael Leighton made his Adirondack season debut Sunday night at the Glens Falls Civic Center with a 25-save performance, only to see the rest of his Phantoms teammates fall short in a loss to the Albany Devils by a score of 3-2. The Adirondack Phantoms finished their third game in just as many nights with a win over the Binghamton Senators on Sunday, by a score of 2-1 at the Glens Falls Civic Center.
