Flight Plan: Atlantic Away Southeast at Home

The Philadelphia Flyers have just one win through four games of a six game road trip. To say that the Flyers aren’t very good on the road is an understatement at this point, as they have the worst record in the NHL away from home at 2-8-0. They’ve also been away more than any team in the Eastern Conference, so there is some comfort in that at least, that they will eventually get even this schedule out with some games within the familiar confines of the Wells Fargo Center. As of right now, Philadelphia is sitting in 10th place, and is looking up at every single one of their opponents in the standings over the seven-day stretch. If they want to put themselves back into contention, they’ll need to build on their …

Hockey Hilarity: Doctor Bryzgalov

Friday funnies brought to you straight from hockey’s own players, media personnel, and broadcast botches. We’ll be mucking it up every week right here, examining puck ups, puns, tweets, and more! The Philadelphia Flyers lost their first shootout on the year last night as they were defeated by the Florida Panthers by a score of 3-2. Ilya Bryzgalov was pretty good again, stopping 22 of 24 shots fired his way, and you can read our recap of that game here. After the game, the affable Russian goaltender spoke to the media and was apparently giving out advice to beat writers as …
