Flight Plan 11.28.2010

Flight Plan is a column that takes a more in depth look at the Flyers’ upcoming opponents every week here at Flyers Faithful. After two solid performances to start the week, wins over the Montreal Canadiens and the Minnesota Wild, the Philadelphia Flyers lost two games in the shootout. These two entirely emotionless losses brought them down a peg in the standings in the Eastern Conference and the entire NHL as the Washington Capitals now have sole ownership of the best record and most points in the league. Flight Plan: Week of 11.21.2010

Flight Plan is a column that will take a more in depth look at the Flyers’ upcoming opponents every week here at Flyers Faithful. All good things must come to an end and so did the Philadelphia Flyers’ run of gaining at least a point in the standings over 10 games in a three-zip loss to the Montreal Canadiens, which was also the first time the Flyers high-powered offense failed to find the back of the net this season. So You Want To Trade Jeff Carter? Are you sure?

Jeff Carter was signed by Paul Holmgren this past weekend. He signed for 11 years for a reported $58 million dollars working out to about a $5.27 million dollar cap hit. They worked hard, scored key goals, got contributions from different players every night. They rolled with that style right on through to the Stanley Cup Finals and came within just two victories of ending a 35 year drought. The entire team was firing on all cylinders last year and right now, …

Flight Plan is a new column that will take a more in depth look at the Flyers’ upcoming opponents every week here at Flyers Faithful. Two weeks ago, the Philadelphia Flyers had not won two games in a row and had been playing sound in maybe one or two areas of their game.  Other than the Danny Briere, Scott Hartnell, and Ville Leino line, nothing seemed to click on a nightly basis for this team and something just seemed off. Now the Flyers have not only won two straight, but are in the midst of a six-game winning streak. The …
