Flyers sign Talbot

In what has turned out to be an incredibly busy couple of hours for the Philadelphia Flyers, the team announced the signing of center Max Talbot. The former Penguin signed a five-year deal worth $9M, according to TSN. Talbot is best known in Philadelphia for fighting Dan Carcillo in Game 6 of the 2009 Eastern Conference Quarterfinals. The fight was considered a turning point in the game, as the Penguins rallied from a three-goal deficit and eliminated the Flyers after this fight. Talbot, 27, plays both center and wing. Flyers sign Lilja

In yet another move on the first day of free agency, the Flyers signed UFA defender, Andreas Lilja. Lilja spend last season in Anaheim after playing the previous 5 in Detroit. He is a 6’3″, 220lb, left-handed defender. He was likely signed to replace Sean O’Donnell who just signed in Chicago for $850K. Lilja, 35, will provide another veteran presence on the blue line. He had a cap hit of $600k last season and played 52 games for the Ducks. TSN reports that Lilja signed a one-year deal. Anthony SanFilippo says the deal worth about $750k.

Flyers sign Voracek

According to Bob McKenzie, the Flyers have signed RFA, Jakub Voracek, to a one-year deal worth $2.25M. The Flyers acquired Voracek from Columbus in the deal for Jeff Carter.

Via the Flyers Twitter account: Per #Flyers GM Paul Holmgren: The Philadelphia Flyers have agreed to a contract with free agent RW Jaromir Jagr. At this point, contract details are unknown. According to Frank Seravalli, the Flyers inked free agent center, Michal Handzus to a new contract. No number has been reported yet. However, you should take this report with a grain of salt at this point in time.
