Flight Plan: Wheels Up

In this writer’s opinion, the Philadelphia Flyers blew it last week. The team had three games which they should have won, one of which they could have grabbed a point in, and garnered just four points to their names and worse, they scored just seven goals in the process. To come out the way they did against the lowly Florida Panthers, is just unacceptable. To need overtime and the shootout to win a game against the Nashville Predators is similarly unacceptable. Mason leads Flyers to 3-2 shootout decision over the Predators in Nashville

Steve Mason is usually one of the best players for the Philadelphia Flyers game in and game out, but Philly’s goaltender was extremely strong tonight in the Flyers’ 3-2 shootout win on the road against the Nashville Predators. Mason denied 34 of the Preds’ 36 shots in regulation and overtime before he made a pair of superb saves in the shootout to grab Philly the additional point. Danis was injured in a collision with several players about nine minutes into the first period, and Cal Heeter came in to replace him for the rest of the game. Danis’ injury was described as an unspecified lower-body injury by Phantoms coach Terry Murray. While the extent of the injury is unknown, Murray told …
