Hockey Hilarity: Mother Tuckers

Friday funnies brought to you straight from hockey’s own players, media personnel, and broadcast botches. We’ll be mucking it up every week right here, examining puck ups, puns, tweets, and more! This week, I just can’t, it’s ridiculous… http://www.torontosun.com/2013/09/15/alex-ovechkin-nhls-ban-on-jersey-tucking-is-stupid The NHL has the best version of the best sport on Earth. I firmly believe that. I love the game of hockey and I absolutely love the NHL’s game, but sometimes I just don’t understand why the people that run the league want to change some of the things that set it apart from the other leagues. Player individuality is a big …

Metropolitan Division Preview: Carolina Hurricanes

The Carolina Hurricanes and the Philadelphia Flyers have a somewhat shared history. Two all-time great Flyers, Rod Brind’Amour and Mark Recchi, won a Stanley Cup with the ‘Canes in 2006. Former Flyer Justin Williams was also on that roster. Their coach? Peter Laviolette. But that’s pretty much it. There’s not a noted record of animosity between these teams. They’ve played sometimes and…yup. That’s about it. So, I guess they’re rivals now or something. Boo ‘Canes?   City Facts They like racing, I believe. It’s close enough to the Wright Brothers that I will go ahead and declare the Hurricanes responsible …

Hockey Hilarity: Live On The Scene With Scott Hartnell

Friday funnies brought to you straight from hockey’s own players, media personnel, and broadcast botches. We’ll be mucking it up every week right here, examining puck ups, puns, tweets, and more! This week, training camp finally (FINALLY!) opened! The boys are back on the ice, running drills and practicing for the long season ahead. Of course they’re also practicing other things, like their media skills. If you missed it, you should definitely take the next minute-plus to watch Philadelphia Flyers left winger Scott Hartnell working on his broadcast skills as he interviews Philadelphia Flyers captain Claude Giroux for ESPN about the upcoming …

I know that Horton heard a Who but here's Horton as a Who and...I'm sorry.

Metropolitan Division Preview: Columbus Blue Jackets

The Columbus Blue Jackets are the oddest team of the bunch to join the Philadelphia Flyers and the other former Atlantic Division castoffs in the Metropolitan Division. They’ve had a mostly miserable existence in the Western Conference, getting picked on by teams like the Detroit Red Wings (who are in the NEW Atlantic Division — is this confusing enough for you?) and the Chicago Blackhawks. The Blue Jackets made a nice push for the playoffs last year, but came up a few points short. Oddly enough, they already have some division ties between a couple of major trades with the …

Hockey Hilarity: Ott-er Disaster

Friday funnies brought to you straight from hockey’s own players, media personnel, and broadcast botches. We’ll be mucking it up every week right here, examining puck ups, puns, tweets, and more! As hockey fans, one of the coolest parts of the game is the sweater. Hockey jerseys are just so cool. The only cooler piece of equipment is the goalie mask, but I digress… The subject of this week’s hockey hilarity is the massive misstep made by a franchise with a pretty rad logo. The Buffalo Sabres have a dope color scheme and a killer logo… But then they go and …
