Through the first tenth of the ’11 NHL season, we have seen some remarkable play from a handful of different Flyers. Danny Briere and Claude Giroux have led the offense but Ville Leino and Scott Hartnell are working very hard, even if they do not get on the score sheet as often. So, who do you think has improved the most to date from last season? If you choose the “Other” option, please leave a comment explaining your answer.
Michael Leighton is injured and Sergei Bobrovsky as been our best goalie in the preseason. Bobrovsky has opened some eyes and shown that he should be able to play in the NHL. Is he ready, though? On one hand, he is not familiar with the all of the NHL rules, is still adjusting to playing in a smaller rink, and cannot communicate with his teammates. On the other hand, he’s quick, athletic, and the bottom line is that he can make saves. Feel free to leave a comment explaining your thoughts.
It seems like a foregone conclusion that the Flyers plan on signing Bill Guerin. How will they manage to fit him under the cap and find a roster spot for him, though? Give your feedback in our poll below. If you choose “Other,” leave your answer in the comments.
Despite making it to the Stanley Cup Finals in ’10, the Flyers had a number of players who struggled during the regular season.
Ville Leino made significant contributions to the Flyers offense when he got his opportunity in the playoffs. Though he gelled instantly with linemates Scott Hartnell and Daniel Briere, Leino remained snake-bitten during the regular season and was often a healthy scratch. How will he fare next season?
