Pierre’s Problem
The Eastern Conference Finals matchup between the New Jersey Devils and the New York Rangers heated up a bit in Game 4 after Rangers pest (and saluting idiot) Mike Rupp messed with mummified Devils goaltender Martin Brodeur. This led to Rangers head coach John Tortorella and Devils counterpart Peter DeBoer screaming at each other between the benches. If they were within arm’s length of each other they probably would have dropped the proverbial gloves. You can find video of the incident below.

April 10th 1988…The Flyers’ near-Stanley Cup win the season previous, had me following the 87-88 team like an obsessed stalker. In the Flyers’ 2004 postseason run the club posted a record of 11-7, as they exited in the seventh game of the Eastern Conference Finals to the Tampa Bay Lightning. Of their 11 wins, seven game-winning goals came from the forwards (three from Keith Primeau alone) and four came from the defensive corps. Paterson out as Phantoms head coach
Unexpected news arrived late this afternoon, revealing that Phantoms head coach Joe Paterson has been relieved from his duties as head coach after less than two seasons at the helm. “As an organization, we feel the Phantoms need a new voice moving forward,” Flyers GM Paul Holmgren said in a brief statement issued on the club’s web site. “We would like to thank Joe for his hard work and service to the Phantoms over the past season and a half, but we feel a new direction is needed at this time.” Paterson, who took over in late December of 2010, …
