Philadelphia Flyers Forward Jakub Voracek was involved in a car accident earlier today. Voracek crashed his Ferrari into a truck near his home town in Kladno, Czech Republic.  The 23 year-old Flyers winger was luckily uninjured in the accident.  Paul Holmgren spoke with Jake earlier in the day and released a statement about it.  “He was involved in a car accident in the Czech Republic.  Although his car did suffer damage, there were no injuries.  Jake is fine,” said Holmgren. Then and Now: Martin Biron

Four goaltenders were picked in the first round of the 1995 NHL Draft. Two of those goalies, J.S. Giguere and Marc Denis, never played for the Philadelphia Flyers. The other two went on to serve as the starting goaltender for Philly at one point in their careers. One of those goaltenders was Brian Boucher. The other goalie was Martin Biron. Flyers General Manager Paul Holmgren does have a tendency of taking forwards in the first round and I would not be shocked if the orange and black go after a forward with their first selection. I …

2013 Year in Review: Zac Rinaldo

For a franchise that is known and loved for their pugilistic dominance, it’s not surprising that one of the team’s favorite players amongst the fans is a fourth-line pest that always picks on somebody bigger than him. Winning the Gene Hart Memorial Award, helping to put one of the league’s best power plays on the ice, and leaving the goal scorers in a favorable position to start their shift is a good summary of Zac Rinaldo’s season. In terms of goals and assists, Rinaldo was on a similar pace as to what he posted in 66 games for the Philadelphia …
