In a move that was not unexpected, the Flyers placed defenseman and team captain Chris Pronger on injured reserve Tuesday, eight days after suffering a serious right eye injury. Corsi is a stat that measures shots for and against while a player is on the ice, so the theory is the higher the Corsi, the more effective the player is and the more value he has to his team. Schenn to miss 4-6 weeks with broken foot
The unquiet slumber of the early part of this 2011-12 season continued on Thursday, as Flyers GM Paul Holmgren confirmed that Brayden Schenn suffered a broken foot and will miss 4-to-6 weeks. Schenn apparently suffered the injury when taking a shot off his left foot in Wednesday’s 5-1 loss in Montreal. Several sources reported that he was already in a walking boot by the time the club packed up to return to Philadelphia.
