Paul Holmgren became the interim General Manager of the Philadelphia Flyers on October 22, 2006. That interim title was removed only weeks later on November 11. Holmgren was able to take a team that finished last in the National Hockey League, and rebuild it to make a deep run all the way to the Eastern Conference Finals the very next season. We raised somewhere between $400-$500 (estimated) for Hurricane Sandy victims during Saturday’s fundraiser. Future Flyers Report: 12/17

A pair of forwards in the Philadelphia Flyers’ system were injured this week, as both Ben Holmstrom and Andrew Johnston suffered setbacks. Holmstrom, the team’s captain, left the Phantoms’ December 8 game against the Syracuse Crunch, which turned out to be a 4-3 shootout victory, due to an injury to his knee. It was announced on Saturday that the forward will undergo surgery on his right knee this Thursday.
