Atlantic Watch: Devils top the East, Rangers on winning streak, Islanders on losing streak

The Philadelphia Flyers were able to extend their point streak to four games this week, as they earned a shootout loss to the Florida Panthers and an overtime win over the Carolina Hurricanes. Although they were dominated in Toronto, the Orange and Black did a good job of rebounding to earn their second road win of the year last night in Winnipeg. The Flyers continue their road trip with three of their six games away from the Wells Fargo Center coming in the next seven days. Philadelphia had a lead after 40 minutes on Thursday, but they only came away …

Spurred by a request from TSN’s Cabbie Richards, Mike Richards and Andrew Ladd organized an impromptu street hockey game in Winnipeg back on November 13 (similar to what Brandon Prust did in Montreal back in …

Simmonds’ Late Goal Sets Up Jagr’s OT Winner, Flyers Finally Beat Jets

It took the Flyers 55 shots, a goal in the final minute of regulation and one more in the final minute before the dreaded shootout, but the Philadelphia Flyers finally beat the Winnipeg Jets with a 5-4 overtime win on Tuesday night at MTS Centre. Jaromir Jagr potted his 16th goal of the season with 44 seconds left in overtime, as the Flyers beat the Jets in the clubs’ final meeting of 2011-2012. On the game-winner, Danny Briere epitomized the game for Philly, as he stuck with the play to out work Johnny Oduya and regain control of the puck …
