Flight Plan: Southeastern Hospitality

The Philadelphia Flyers kicked off their first home stand with a bang, beating the Carolina Hurricanes by a score of 5-3. Despite a lackluster third period, the Flyers were able to hold on for their third win of the 2013 season as Danny Briere, Braydon Coburn, Kurtis Foster, and Mike Knuble all netted their first goals of the year. The Orange and Black will strive for more consistency this week as they will play host to three Southeast Division teams after their second two-day break in a week. The Flyers face the Tampa Bay Lightning on Tuesday, the Florida Panthers on Thursday, …

Instead, Colorado’s Gabriel Landeskog, Adam Henrique of the New Jersey Devils and #1 overall pick Ryan Nugent-Hopkins of Edmonton garnered the top three slots. Like they used to say in Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Court: Fair or unfair…UNFAIR!!! Our own Nick D laid down the case for the 25-year-old Bemidji State product last week, and while it may be true that his age was a contributing factor in being left off the ballot, there are several more factors which he still believes …

Flight Plan Week of 10.30.2011

The Philadelphia Flyers split their four games this week. After a big win over the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Flyers dropped a bad one to the Montreal Canadiens where they looked all sorts of out of sorts against a team who was desperate for a win. Then, the Flyers continued looking discombobulated up until the end of the second period against the Winnipeg Jets in a crazy 17-goal back-and-forth shoot out at the Wells Fargo Center, the Jets barely getting out of dodge with a win they should have had locked up. Wrapping up the week, Philadelphia was able to …
