Game 14 Preview: Philadelphia Flyers @ Carolina Hurricanes

Philadelphia Flyers (4-9-0) @ Carolina Hurricanes (4-7-3), 7:30pm, NBCSN/CSN-Philly One can make the argument that any stretch of games is key to a team’s success for a season, but the next four games for the Philadelphia Flyers might be the most important stretch all season. Playing two teams with as many wins as they currently do in the Carolina Hurricanes and the Ottawa Senators along with two teams who have less wins than them in the New Jersey Devils and Edmonton Oilers, the Orange and Black have a real opportunity to gain some momentum and confidence to perhaps get out …

Flight Plan: Buckle Up and Buckle Down

Last week was a rough week. The Philadelphia Flyers lost a game in which they carried a 2-0 lead into the third period over the Anaheim Ducks, became the laughing stock of the entire NHL in a game against the Washington Capitals when they were blown out by a score of 7-0, and won a game 1-0 against the New Jersey Devils. The Philadelphia Flyers fired coach Peter Laviolette after a loss last Sunday to the Carolina Hurricanes. They promoted Craig Berube to head coach. Since then, they are 1-2-0, as they beat the Florida Panthers on Tuesday, but lost to the Phoenix Coyotes and the Detroit Red Wings, and have scored just five goals in that span. Mistakes cost Flyers in Carolina, fall 2-1

For the second time in two days, the Philadelphia Flyers were outworked by the opposition, as the Carolina Hurricanes grabbed a 2-1 victory at home. It was a Radek Dvorak goal in the second period that proved to be a game-winner, as Jay Harrison also scored for the hosts. Luke Schenn was the only member of Philly to beat Anton Khudobin on the evening, as the former Boston Bruin stopped 17 of the Flyers’ 18 shots. Through three games, the Flyers have a total of three goals, one of which has come at even strength. “I don’t know if anything’s …
