Despite being up 4-1 over the Washington Capitals in the third period today, the Philadelphia Flyers managed to fumble away a sure victory, as they dropped a 5-4 shootout decision on the road. Alex Ovechkin had a two-goal game, including the game-tying goal with 47.9 seconds left, while both Eric Fehr and Nicklas Backstrom potted tallies in the shootout to give the Caps the decision.
