The Philadelphia Flyers were able to extend their point streak to four games this week, as they earned a shootout loss to the Florida Panthers and an overtime win over the Carolina Hurricanes. Although they were dominated in Toronto, the Orange and Black did a good job of rebounding to earn their second road win of the year last night in Winnipeg. Flyers send Hurricanes home with another Saturday loss

Danny Briere scored his second goal of the season at 1:47 of overtime as the Philadelphia Flyers sent Carolina Hurricanes home with a loss for the second straight Saturday, winning 4-3. Briere took an outlet pass from Nicklas Grossmann along the boards, crossed up the defense, and sent a wrist shot, which deflected off the far post and then off the backside of ‘Canes goalie Cam Ward and over the goal line. Though only three games were played, the Flyers have gained a lot since last Wednesday. It was only a week ago when the Flyers were seemingly a few losses away from the start of a shortened push towards a lottery pick, but luck is finally beginning to change for the Orange and Black on their home ice.
