Despite a quick start and numerous chances offered by Toronto goalie Ben Scrivens, the Philadelphia Flyers were unable to pull out a win in Monday night’s matchup with the Maple Leafs, falling by a 4-2 count. Wayne Simmonds capped a furious comeback for the Flyers scoring at 11:03 remaining in the third period to give the Flyers a 4-3 lead and a 5-3 victory. Simmonds received a cross-ice pass just in front of the goalmouth from Brayden Schenn, and all Simmonds had to was tap in the game-winner. The KHL playoffs start today, as 16 of the league’s 26 clubs compete for the Gagarin Cup. Since the NHL and KHL are huge competitors, it’s interesting to look at the players on the current KHL playoff teams to see just how many are former Philadelphia Flyers or NHLers.
