After putting themselves in a very big hole, the Philadelphia Flyers ended this week with two emphatic wins to show that they could be a playoff team. It might be too little too late, but the Orange and Black will carry their two-game winning streak into their upcoming seven-day stretch. Philly started the week with a 3-1 loss at home to the Ottawa Senators. Colin Greening put home the decisive tally with 5:36 remaining, as Robin Lehner made 24 stops in the win. Steve Mason was outstanding stopping 38 of 40 shots as the Philadelphia Flyers defeated the New York Rangers 4-2 on Tuesday night. “Certainly he seems to be feeling comfortable here”, Coach Peter Laviolette said of his new goaltender. ”He’s in control of the net. He’s got a good glove. He seems to be seeing the puck really well. The Philadelphia Flyers entered this week on a winning streak, but they left it on a losing skid and can now only hope they receive some help to make the postseason. With four of their final nine games coming up in the next week, the Orange and Black will likely find out if they will be heading to the playoffs by April 17th. The Philadelphia Flyers extended their season-high winning streak to four games tonight with a 5-3 decision over the Toronto Maple Leafs at the Air Canada Centre. Sean Couturier and Erik Gustafsson both recorded two-assist nights, while Jay Rosehill was credited with the eventual game-winner against his former squad. Ilya Bryzgalov may have allowed three goals on 28 shots, but he and the Flyers’ defense did come up big in the third period when the Leafs surged late in the contest. Fedotenko scores in overtime, gives Philly improbable two points over Caps

Ruslan Fedotenko beat Braden Holtby in overtime to give the Philadelphia Flyers a 5-4 win in front of the home crowd tonight. After Kimmo Timonen tied the game with just under 10 seconds left in regulation, the blue liner set up Fedotenko for the game-winning tally in the extra frame to grab the Flyers two points in the standings. Bryzgalov leads Flyers to 3-1 win over Bruins

The Philadelphia Flyers grabbed two points today with a 3-1 win over the Boston Bruins today at the Wells Fargo Center. The trio of Mike Knuble, Matt Read, and Ruslan Fedotenko found the back of the net today, as the only visitor to beat Ilya Bryzgalov in victory was Nathan Horton. Bryz had 33 saves to Tuukka Rask’s 19, as Rask allowed two goals on 21 shots.
