For the first time in awhile, the Flyers put together a string of wins this week, as they won all three of their contests. Ilya Bryzgalov played a big part in the team’s success, as he won all three games with a save percentage of .948. With a four-game schedule ahead for the next seven days, hopefully Bryzgalov can keep Philly’s winning ways intact against some strong opponents. Van Riemsdyk out until end of regular season with broken foot

The season in the wilderness for 22-year-old James van Riemsdyk hit yet another snag last night, when he was diagnosed with a broken bone in his left foot after blocking a shot from Milan Jurcina late in the first period of a 6-3 win over the Islanders last night. On Friday, the third-year forward was further evaluated, and while a timetable has been set, the news was not good. “James will have surgery on Mar. 6 to repair a broken bone in his left foot. Matt Read gave the Flyers the decisive goal in the fifth round of a 5-4 shootout win over the Calgary Flames tonight at the Scotiabank Saddledome.
