Van Riemsdyk out until end of regular season with broken foot

The season in the wilderness for 22-year-old James van Riemsdyk hit yet another snag last night, when he was diagnosed with a broken bone in his left foot after blocking a shot from Milan Jurcina late in the first period of a 6-3 win over the Islanders last night. On Friday, the third-year forward was further evaluated, and while a timetable has been set, the news was not good. “James will have surgery on Mar. 6 to repair a broken bone in his left foot. Matt Read gave the Flyers the decisive goal in the fifth round of a 5-4 shootout win over the Calgary Flames tonight at the Scotiabank Saddledome. (from Google images) In just a few days, I will be celebrating my hockey two year anniversary. I mark my beginnings as a fan by the day I saw the last game of the Olympics in 2010. The Flyers won two of their three games this week, as the club is still trying to turn things around before the playoffs. Although they are 4-5-2 since the All-Star break, Philly won two of their last three games.
