Flight Plan: What Do We Do When We Fall Off The Horse…

The Philadelphia Flyers fired coach Peter Laviolette after a loss last Sunday to the Carolina Hurricanes. They promoted Craig Berube to head coach. Since then, they are 1-2-0, as they beat the Florida Panthers on Tuesday, but lost to the Phoenix Coyotes and the Detroit Red Wings, and have scored just five goals in that span. Minor League Update: 2/13-2/19

The Adirondack Phantoms won half of their games this week, as they ended their lengthy road losing streak in the process. For their third straight loss, the Phantoms dropped a 5-1 decision at the Verizon Wireless Arena to the Manchester Monarchs (Los Angeles Kings’ AHL affiliate) on Wednesday night. Jordan Nolan posted the game-winner 11:31 into the middle stanza …

The Phantoms won both of their games this week and are inching their way to the top of the standings. The pair of victories marked the first time the Phantoms had won back-to-back games in regulation since their wins against the Syracuse Crunch (the Anaheim Ducks’ AHL affiliate) on November 30th and the Norfolk Admirals (the Tampa Bay Lightning AHL affiliate) on December 2nd. Adirondack looks to add on to their winning streak with a trio of divisional games this week. Friday the 13th is usually unlucky, but it proved fortuitous for the Phantoms as they beat the visiting Hamilton …
