Game 14 Preview: Philadelphia Flyers @ Carolina Hurricanes

Philadelphia Flyers (4-9-0) @ Carolina Hurricanes (4-7-3), 7:30pm, NBCSN/CSN-Philly One can make the argument that any stretch of games is key to a team’s success for a season, but the next four games for the Philadelphia Flyers might be the most important stretch all season. Playing two teams with as many wins as they currently do in the Carolina Hurricanes and the Ottawa Senators along with two teams who have less wins than them in the New Jersey Devils and Edmonton Oilers, the Orange and Black have a real opportunity to gain some momentum and confidence to perhaps get out …

Flight Plan: Getting Back Into the Swing of Things

Through two games, the Philadelphia Flyers are looking like a good team, but have lacked finish as they’ve been outscored 7-2 thus far in the 2013-2014 season. Luckily, there are 80 more games left as opposed to last year where there would only be 46 games  remaining at this point, and there are some bright spots. Flight Plan: Seven Games Left

The Philadelphia Flyers have seven games remaining in their 2013 season. Yesterday they lost to the Buffalo Sabres by a score of 1-0. They are not technically mathematically eliminated from the playoffs, but they will be this week with relative ease. Even if they win out, the Flyers would need all of the teams above them to lose just about every game. Four of the seven games on Philadelphia’s docket are this week against the Montreal Canadiens, the New York Rangers, the New Jersey Devils, and the Carolina Hurricanes. Atlantic Watch: Flyers’ long break, Penguins extend lengthy winning streak, Rangers grab eighth place, Brodeur returns

The Philadelphia Flyers didn’t help their case to make the 2013 postseason this week, as they only earned two points over three games. To make matters worse, the Orange and Black will endure a five-day break to let the other teams in the Eastern Conference catch up with them in games played. After their lengthy break, the Flyers play a game in Pittsburgh before starting a five-game homestand against another Atlantic Division club fighting to make the playoffs. The Flyers’ week started with a 5-2 loss to the New Jersey Devils at the Prudential Center on Wednesday. In the first game …
