Hockey Hilarity: u good!!

Friday funnies brought to you straight from hockey’s own players and media personnel. We’ll be mucking it up every week right here, examining puck ups, puns, tweets, and more! Happy Friday everybody! It’s unfortunate that the National Hockey League is still in full-on lockout-mode, with no plans to meet, and an apparent moratorium on negotiations has been suggested or put into effect or whatever. Seriously I don’t even care anymore, just get the game back on the ice, alright? Anyway, I guess without the lockout, what you’re about to see wouldn’t have happened. It’s basically just a bunch of tweets from Scott Hartnell, which …

Hockey Hilarity: Nice Hands

Friday funnies brought to you straight from hockey’s own players and media personnel. We’ll be mucking it up every week right here, examining puck ups, puns, tweets, and more! This week’s hockey hilarity is just your basic puck up on Twitter courtesy of one silky smooth stickhandler, but not-so-terrific-Tweeter Jordan Eberle of the Edmonton Oilers. Here’s the original tweet that I’m positive Mr. Eberle meant to send: Who was he planning to address? What was he going to say? Was it something important? Was it a profound, life-altering statement? Was it the secret of the universe? The meaning of life? Or …

The end of their four-game road trip wasn’t pretty for the Flyers, as their only two points came in a shootout win against the Calgary Flames on Saturday night. With a pair of shutout losses, the Flyers have now been shut out five times this season. The Flyers hope two games against Eastern Conference teams below them in the standings will help them gain ground in a fight for home-ice advantage in the first round of the playoffs. On Thursday, the Flyers failed to put a puck past Devan Dubnyk a single time in a 2-0 loss against the Edmonton Oilers. Taylor …

Horrible Second Period Leads To Flyers’ 2-0 Loss In Edmonton

A horrendous middle stanza and a strong performance from Devan Dubnyk helped the Edmonton Oilers beat the visiting Flyers by a score of 2-0 tonight. Taylor Hall’s power-play goal only minutes into the second period was enough for an Edmonton victory, as the Flyers ran into a second straight amazing goalie performance from an unexpected source. In the first and third periods, the Flyers outshot the Oilers 29-15. In the second period, however, the Oilers earned a 15-6 shot advantage and potted the game’s only goals. The Flyers had a strong start and a strong finish, but there inexplicable lull …

Philly started off the season with a 2-1 win against the defending Stanley Cup Champions, the Boston Bruins in Beantown, then recorded a dominant 3-0 shutout in New Jersey to end a 101-game drought during the regular season and playoffs combined. After giving up the first goal of the NHL season to Brad Marchand, the Flyers scored two goals in the final minute of the first period. Claude Giroux dangled his way to a goal with 50 seconds left, while Jakub Voracek scored with only three seconds to go on a turn around shot in the slot. Fortunately for Philly, this would be all they needed as Ilya …
