The Philadelphia Flyers overcame a pair of key injuries and completed a comeback in Phoenix to beat the Coyotes by the score of 5-3. Jakub Voracek had the game-winning goal with a little over eight minutes left in regulation and set up Wayne Simmonds for the game-tying goal, while Steve Mason stopped 26 of the Coyotes’ 29 shots on net. Flight Plan: There’s No Place Like Home

The Philadelphia Flyers have gained a point in each of their last four games. They won three in a row before losing in a shootout to the Winnipeg Jets. What this indicates to this writer is that they’ve finally begun to play a more complete team game after struggling most of last and early this season to find their team game. Flight Plan: Getting Back Into the Swing of Things

­­ Through two games, the Philadelphia Flyers are looking like a good team, but have lacked finish as they’ve been outscored 7-2 thus far in the 2013-2014 season. Luckily, there are 80 more games left as opposed to last year where there would only be 46 games  remaining at this point, and there are some bright spots. A look at the goaltending market this offseason

With the trade of Jonathan Bernier to the Toronto Maple Leafs the Flyers lost out on a goaltender that I am personally a very big fan of. I think that Bernier is the real deal, and I would have loved to have been able to acquire him. Naturally, if that acquisition were to have happened, an Ilya Bryzgalov compliance buyout would have been inevitable. I am in favor of buying out Bryzgalov simply because of his contract.
