Ron Genest may not be a household name. You won’t see his artwork hanging in museums, and you won’t find it for sale in art galleries. But Genest’s work doesn’t need accolades or fanfare to be recognized as great, because his pieces have one thing that not every piece of art does – they’ve got heart. Last week’s update was all about Jaromir and his birthday. This week is a little different. We have some really good topics about a former Flyers goalie who had his issues here, so take a look. First of all, it’s very likely that Petr Nedved’s Liberec (4th) will be facing Jakub Kovar’s Ceske Budejovice (5th) in the playoffs. So Flyers fans should be interested in that matchup. What do we do with you, Zac Rinaldo? The rookie center was “Shanabanned” earlier this evening, suspended for two games without pay on Monday by the National Hockey League. Rinaldo was slapped on the wrist because of that hard check which blew up Red Wings defenseman Jonathan Ericsson late in the first period of a 3-2 Detroit victory on Sunday night at Joe Louis Arena. The National Hockey League selected Philadelphia to host the All-Star Game in 1976 and 1992. In the first year, the club was in the throes of its glory, on the way to a third straight Stanley Cup Finals appearance and fresh off the vanquishing of the hated Soviets.
