In February of 2011, the Philadelphia Flyers added Kris Versteeg from the Toronto Maple Leafs, as they were looking for a piece to help them make a deep playoff run. In exchange for the forward, Philly dealt a first-round pick and a third-round pick in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. Toronto selected Stuart Percy with the first-round pick and Josh Leivo with the third-round pick. As the beginning of the NHL season nears, several former Philadelphia Flyers, draft picks of the team, and former members of the organization were involved in transactions this week. The biggest news might be the New York Rangers releasing Johan Hedberg, who was with the team on a Professional Try-Out.
